September update

We've talked about getting rid of the cat a few times, because it's annoying, but it's also one of Bela's best friends, so we decided to keep it.

Bela had her fifteen month check up recently and they gave me a sheet of paper at the end that said "Look how much I've grown!" at the top and then it shows her stats: length 4% and weight 11%.  Tiny baby!  Now when I look at her I think, Oh my little 4% baby.  At her check up they asked if she says any words.  She doesn't, but I should have clarified if they meant sounds because she says these sounds: mama, dada, nana, and recently added "gaga."

Bela had roseola for a few days... Glad that's over with.  Mario reminded me Dulce also had it when she was younger.

On her own, Bela started to fold her arms for prayer.  She does it when we pray and also when she wants to pray.  We can be doing anything and she will just fold her arms and then look at us and wait until we say a prayer.  She also kind of tucks her head down, like she's folding it.

doing work

so studious

We had told Dulce she could get a dog for her 4th birthday, but when Mario and I realized how much work it would be, we decided to back out of that promise, which is something I don't like to do.  We told her this (again) one day while we were at the mall and playing in Build a Bear.  I suggested we come to Build a Bear on her birthday instead of getting a dog. She said no, instead of getting a dog we could construct a Build a Bear store next to her room.... She drives a hard bargain!

Dulce is really into her kinetic sand and will spend hours every day playing with it.

Dulce is doing a tap/ballet/tumbling class which she really likes.

yes, the bears came out a little freakier than intended...

Mario has stared teaching again (in addition to his normal job) so we see him less.  He's also still playing golf (til it gets too cold!) and soccer in his free time.  He's so great with the girls and cleans the kitchen while I put the kiddies to bed, which I love.  The kitchen floor is the bane of my existence.  I just have the hardest time keeping it clean!

I continue to be behind in laundry, but if I pretend it's because I'm always playing with my kids that makes it okay right?
I was called to be the second counselor in the Stake Young Women's Presidency which I'm excited about. Can't wait to get to know all the youth!
I've been reading more lately and here are some recent ones:
- Lord of the Flies (for banned book week) - well written, but didn't like how it left me feeling, which I think was probably the author's intention
- Beloved - I'm about a third of the way done with it and I feel bad for saying this, but I don't really like it!  I LOVE some books and I know this book is so famous but I keep asking myself, "Should I be reading this book I only kinda like when there are sure to be so many ones I LOVE out there that I haven't discovered yet?"
- Blink - almost done with it.  This is the book my book group is doing.  I like it and I find the examples very interesting.
- Wonder - liked it.  Suggested to me by Camille.
- No other darkness - meh. Not amazing.

Genera Conference was this weekend and while there were a couple of themes that stood out personally to me, there were two quotes from the same talk that I really liked:
"To discipline in the Lord's way is to lovingly and patiently teach."
"The way you see a child is the way you treat them and the way you treat them is what they become."
Side-note: I made 54 cinnamon rolls and had lots of fun delivering them throughout this conference weekend.
